OPEN HOUSE AT CPD [Coming in September]
Meet your CPD Officers on September 20, 2008 [Rain Date 9-21-08]. The Cumberland Police Department will host the annual "Open House". Get ready for lots of food, live bands, antique police vehicles, clowns, station tours, firearm training simulator, see all of our equipment and vehicles including the Med-Flight helicopter... plus a whole lot more! Free CPD T-shirts to the first 500 people. ADMISSION IS FREE! Hours are12:00pm to 3:00pm.
TOUCH A TRUCK [Coming in September]
On September 7, 2008 the Cumberland Fraternal Order of Police will sponsor the 3rd annual "Touch A Truck" event. This event will be held from 11:00am to 3:00pm at Diamond Hill Park and it gives kids the opportunity to get hands on with some of the largest trucks made. From tow trucks and cranes to excavators and dump trucks this is a hit for kids of all ages. ADMISION IS FREE!
OFFICER NUNES COMMENDATION
On August 20th Officer Nunes received an commendation from the Town Council for his performance which resulted in the arrest of 3 bank robbers in Woonsocket.

CPD HEADQUARTERS DEDICATED
The Cumberland Police Department was renamed and dedicated the "John J. Partington Public Safety Building" on June 1, 2008
